What is Neuromorphic Visual Processing?

NNeuromorphic Visual Information Processing Technology is a noble approach to processing visual data. Based on our own vision system, NVIP offers robustness and accuracy in real-life environment tasks.

Pedestrian/Cyclist Detection

 Early accurate detection of vulnerable road users, such as pedestrians, cyclists as well as motor-cyclists and persons with disablities or reduced mobility can save lives.

 Detection in various environment conditions - particularly in low-light and bad weather situations would be paramount in applicability of any detection device. NVIP accounts for this through its inherent robustness and accuracy.

Driver Monitoring

 Through improving driver-car communication, better driver assistance and safety could be achieved. NVP has been previously tested on facial images to analyse emotional state and concentration level. This is turn allows early warning to be issued to the driver should they become inattentive.


Our early tests showed inattentiveness could be detected through tracking iris movements, and affective computing (for prevention of road-rage incidents), FACS was integrated to analyse key ROIs.

Vehicle Analysis

 Vehicle Analysis at ODIGA is divided into two parts - vehicle analysis and vehicle detection in real-life situations.


 Example of vehicle analysis is number plate detection in night-time for tracking purpose.

Security & Surveillance

Application of neuromorphic vision isn't limited to traffic safety. Our early works show that it is as effective in non-urban environment as it is in city settings. Potential applications for neuromorphic vision in this respect are security and surveillance, with examples of shown above.
